New Texas Pro Sin City Stampede (4.16.26) review

New Texas Pro Sin City Stampede (4.16.26) review

April 16, 2026

We’re in Las Vegas, once again, at the Swan Dive. Or the “Bizarre Bar” as it’s called on comms. Oh, sick, NEW BUILDING UNLOCKED! It’s like getting DLC. Hosts are Dan Miller & Cam Hawkins. Oh, shit, I think we’ve found my fucking level guys. This is 100% where I would have gone Wrestlemania weekend. What a shithole. I love it. Hardly anyone here, bar easy to access.

WRESTLEMANIA WEEK REVIEW #26

Starboy Charlie, Cosmo Orion & Epydemius Jr vs. Dragon Kid, Andrew Cass & Shimbashi

Hell yeah, this is the real Wrestlemania right here brothers and sisters. This is proper. Getting Dragon Kid with a bunch of randos in front of 30 people. I fucking love this shit. Charlie looks pretty good here, compared to his boring WWE ID matches. This is where you learn your trade, motherfucker. DK politely eats heat before hitting a rana that’s so slick, so perfect, it almost causes everyone else to retire. You find out how good you really are when you’re suddenly in there with someone that outstanding. Shimbashi is at that hilarious point in his development where he’s given his fancy finisher a name and yells it out before hitting it. Haha. Get yourself over, kid! DK gets the pin on Orion, and everyone looked like they were having a blast here. **¾

1 Called Manders vs. Timur the Great

We get some meat slapping as a contrast to the flippy opener. As they barrel into each other, the crowd get into it. This is Texas style. Big meaty boys doing damage. Timur occasionally is just standing there waiting, unsure of what to do next, but it rarely happens because the whole match is just chopping and shoulderblocks and shit. Man style. ***¼

Devin Carter vs. Jak Calloway vs. Chris Marcell vs. Ethan Hunter vs. Travis Cudi vs. Prince Kxriuki vs. Jackpot

Oh no, it’s the dreaded scramble. At least this is delayed entry so it’s somewhat different but honestly, the scramble is the ultimate ‘brain switch off’ match and this didn’t even make sense. It’s also awful. DUD

Oli Summers vs. Vinnie Massaro

Vinnie used to follow me on Twitter and doesn’t appear to be doing so anymore. I can only assume I said something about one of his mates that he didn’t appreciate. Not wanting to hazard a wild guess, but Sami Callihan? Anyway, his cartoonish Mario character battles up and coming Summers here. Massaro is good at certain things. Like the close in strikes and general presence. However, he’s totally unconvincing at moving around the ring and should stick to elbow duels in the middle of the ring, so I don’t have to watch him run. They do some near misses in this that are tragic. Again, Massaro far better when he’s in close contact. Maybe he can’t see. Massaro gets a cradle for the win. *½

Adam Priest vs. Dustin Nguyen

We get a bit of taichi to start with. Dustin feels like he’s about to get his ass handed to him. Priest was only on two shows this weekend, which seems odd. A few years back, he was on everything. Dustin plays his character like an underdog but he’s bigger than Priest. His stuff is…not as clean as I’d like. He does try to incorporate martial arts into his approach, but it just looks untidy. I’m not sure about his footwork in particular. Priest wins with a half crab. This was fine. I appreciate Nguyen doing something different here. **¼

New Texas Pro Tag Team Championship

Dream Team (Danny King & KC Kr’eme) (c) vs. LVJ & Maya World vs. Toxic Tour (Pac Ortega & Prince Ly) vs. The Meat Market (Cutlet & Isaac Morales)

As I’m sat typing out these participants it’s fair to say I’m starting to get a bit worn down. I’ve been reviewing Wrestlemania shows for an entire week at this point and while I had a few tricks to keep me going, the steam is starting to run out. Seeing a bunch of guys from low tier indies work a match style I don’t care for, all slapping away at each other’s thighs isn’t helping. Then, to really piss me off, LVJ turns on Maya and hits her with a double knees. Presumably because she tagged in when he had the match won. You would THINK that would be the finish, but it isn’t. DUD

And yes, that was the match that finally broke me. I had to stop and play Geoguessr for a while to reset. When that doesn’t work, I go outside for a walk. Basically watching 26 wrestling shows a week isn’t good for you. And yet I’m still getting recommended more shows by outlaw mud promotions running car parks and libraries. I appreciate the recommendations guys but I’m so tired.

Dimitri Alexandrov vs. ISHIN

Alexandrov, a Russian who wrestles out of Austin, is a large man. 6’3” and beefy. Everything’s bigger in Texas. ISHIN is a big old unit too. ISHIN is a dickbag so his comedy low blows and general cunty behaviour allow him to dominate the big man. Alexandrov doesn’t have the best instincts, but he does look like Bruiser Brody if you squint, so hey, I’m onboard. His discus lariat provokes a very nice bump from ISHIN.

They clubber each other, and Alexandrov just wins with a side slam gimmick out of nowhere. Solid match with nice hard-hitting business, but the finish felt flat and the lack of reaction is telling that they didn’t quite land it right. **¾

Raychell Rose vs. Kitty Hisatomi

This is really basic. Any time Rose tries something outside of the basic realm it looks poor. Kitty gets a flipover pin in under two minutes, and we can move on with our lives.

New Texas Pro Women’s Championship

Charity King (c) vs. Gabby Forza

We get some rare LADY MEAT COLLISSIONS here. “I ain’t no bitch” says Charity after surviving a big shoulderblock. You’ve seen big beefy boys doing big beefy moves, now see big beefy girls doing the same. Considering the playful start of the match, the sheer heavyweight violence that follows is pleasing. “Damn that bitch strong” – Charity. She’s not quite strong enough to do a good Alabamaslam but fuck me, it was a good attempt.

For the first time in the entire weekend, I get suckered on a near fall too. A big King powerbomb out of the corner and Gabby gets the shoulder up at the last second. I’ll be god damned. King survives a spear and retains with the World’s Strongest Slam. This fucking ruled guys. It was one of the best women’s matches all weekend. Fucking fair play. Shout out to both women for a great performance here. ***½

New Texas Pro Championship

Danny Orion (c) vs. Bryan Keith

This is technically proficient. Keith has always been solid without being spectacular. Wrestling needs people like that. People who are prepared to take all the bullshit spots and make other people look good. Keith gets more reaction here for one strike than most people do for a dozen flippydos. Like Danny Orion, for example. I also like Keith’s chops. He’s a good foil for Orion and would probably be the same foil for any other spotty worker. Especially as his stuff is so impactful and serious. Orion has some cool ideas but can’t execute the power stuff, only the aerial stuff. We start to get time calls, telegraphing the time limit draw. Which sucks and they miss a great chance to ring the bell on a near fall, which is right before the actual finish. ***

The 411:

Way more good than bad on this show, although the two big old spotfest matches really sucked and dragged everything down unfortunately. Still, a very good show from a small venue and I would have been happy to sit through that live. Should comfortably make my top ten shows for the weekend.
