WRESTLEMANIA WEEK REVIEW #3

We’re in the FSW Arena, a different venue to the ones from the Collective’s casino building. They start late and then Trevin Adams comes out to apologise for being late. Adams is on comms with Bill Alphonso! Yay! And Frank the Clown. Fucks sake.
Beastman vs. Crush

Crush is built like a brick shithouse. Poor choice of name though. Beastman is a very large man who likes bones. Insert your jokes here. Beastman becomes the first guy to hook a chinlock all weekend. Crush tries to throw himself around in an attempt to take Beastman down. This gets him a big boot SQUARE in the chest and a cannonball. Crush tries to sell his back a little bit, and I’m not sure he’s got that. They do an ugly spot in the corner, and Beastman sits on Crush for the win. Eventually. *¼. Hey, you’ll see much worse matches this weekend.
Sam Holloway vs. Jai Vidal
Holloway is announced as having a WWE mark contract. He’s certainly tall. Holloway throws Vidal around for shits and giggles. Vidal takes a few decent bumps, but Holloway runs out of stuff to do and starts working the back. We get another chinlock! If you need a break, don’t go this long. There’s no need for it anyway. Everyone is going to watch a hundred matches this weekend. Holloway gets bored and hits a chokebomb for the win. *¾
We cut back to the ringside area and Fonzie is texting someone.

Nine Way Scramble
I’m not listing all the participants. It’s just a battle royal at this point. I will say this is the second Rhys Maddox sighting. I think he’s booked on ten shows. It takes ten minutes to get all these jabronies out here. I could have had a nap. A bunch of stuff happens and then there’s a submission. Or something. I don’t know. I wasn’t paying attention. The more people you have in a scramble, the worse it gets.
Stallion Rogers vs. LJ Cleary
Stallion is a perfectly cromulent worker. If you want a guy to come out and work very solid **½-**¾ match, Stallion is your man. Cleary does a good job working from underneath while Stallion beats him up. After working solidly for five minutes we suddenly get a bunch of spots and a Canadian Destroyer, which isn’t the finish. “Tell me that didn’t happen when they were training in NOAH”. That didn’t happen when they were training in NOAH. Stallion finishes with a pumphandle piledriver. Cool finish, but it would have landed better with me if they’d not suddenly started popping off spots for no reason. **¼
CCW Women’s Championship
Kristin Blaze (c) vs. Jessica Roden
Roden appears to have a gymnastics background based on how she’s moving. It’s very smooth technique. Fonzie chips in to say that Roden was working out hard in the gym earlier “which is why she’s got such a nice ass”. Jesus, Fonzie. Blaze is ok-ish. She has a better personality than her technique. This feels like a WWE developmental match between two ‘athletes’. It’s slightly better than that, but that’s the vibe. Roden eats a back elbow, which busts her lip and she gets pissed off afterwards.
Pissed off Roden RULES. There’s a huge release German suplex and then a SWANK powerbomb. Blaze pushes the ref into the ropes to get an advantage and wins with a split legged moonsault. This was too long but both of them got over here. Roden looks great but would be better positioned in squashes at this stage of her career. MOTN? **½
Ben Bishop vs. Matt Riddle

Riddle’s stupidity has taken him from King of the Indies to WWE to working in front of 25 people. If he had a brain in his head, he would have been a huge star. I haven’t seen him wrestle in a year or so, and he’s washed. “Most guys Ben’s size can’t move. They’re clumsy as hell”. Uh huh. They do a chokeslam spot where Riddle is supposed to get his foot on the ropes and Bishop slams him in the wrong place, so Riddle has to edge towards the ropes. It’s awful. They fuck around on the ropes for a bit and Riddle wins with a diving cutter. Dogshit. ½*
Izzy Moreno vs. Sammi Chaos vs. Shotzi Blackheart
It’s mad that Bayley’s superfan from classic NXT is now a pro-wrestler. I feel so old. I still vividly remember Sasha Banks making her cry.

Izzy sells well for Sammi, who’s naturally so much bigger than she is. Meanwhile, she looks more comfortable with Shotzi, who can run through that WWE-lite style Izzy has so far. Still a bit of a mark, eh? Izzy has some pretty major issues. Her missed clothesline in this is waaaay off and her grabbing the back of her head is fine, for safety, but before Shotzi even has her in the suplex? She’s clearly green. Fair play to her for chasing her dream but expect criticism in this biz. Sammi sits on her for the win. *½
Josh Bishop vs. Cha Cha Charlie
Bishop reminds me Dr D, Dave Schultz. This was supposed to be Ricky Sosa, but YOU’LL NEVER GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? That’s right, he got pulled again! You couldn’t make it up. Bishop tries to set up a spot where he drives Charlie into his own hat. It’s straw and therefore could potentially irritate the skin. What a bastard. Bishop hits a huge black hole slam and that should be the finish but instead Charlie fucks up the counter to a powerbomb and that’s the (botched) finish. *
CCW Championship
Gangrel (c) vs. Jimmy Lloyd

Who decided 2026 Mania weekend was going to be the Gangrel year? No wonder his match with Matt Tremont was only two minutes long. I wish this was two minutes long. It peaks with Gangrel’s entrance and we’re not getting big effort with this tiny crowd. It’s very sluggish and I’m fighting my eyelids. It’s 5pm lads. Imagine if I was attempting to watch this shit live? Jimmy misses a fat guy moonsault and the Impaler finishes. Gangrel maintaining his prestigious CCW title. *½. Finish looked good!
The 411:
Hands down the worst of the three shows I’ve seen so far. At least it was short. When I saw the line up, I thought this was going to be fucking 3.5 hours or something stupid. Some decent talent on this show but not enough to recommend sitting through 2 hours of Frank the Clown commentary, where he talks about himself in the third person.
